He Stole My Sunsets

Another year of emptiness
From a want that’s decades old
Wishing we could share a sunrise
While longing for your hand to hold

What time has yet to change
Are the feelings in my heart
The hardest pain I face each day
Is the fact that we’re apart

He stole my sunsets
Now regret
Is all that
I’m left with
My soul has always known that you’re the one

If I’m to confess
You can bet
You’re my greatest weakness
But the fact that hurts me most is….
He stole my sunsets

Not a day goes bye that I don’t dream about us
Sharing all the moments of our lives
Can I say if I may as I lay down each night
Every sunset holds reminders of
My never ending fight

He stole my sunsets
Now regret
Is all that
I’m left with
My soul has always known that you’re the one

If I’m to confess
You can bet
You’re my greatest weakness
But the fact that hurts me most is….
He stole my sunsets
He stole my sunsets…
He stole my…..sunsets……
