He Slammed the Door

                         11/4/2023

He slammed his heavy door, right in friendships’ face!

She cried heavy tears into a handkerchief of dainty, lilac lace.

The silver moon rose in the sky, she heard it whisper, with a cloudy sigh…..

“God did see that email, and your new, best friend is almost nigh.”

Serenity Prayer, by Reinhold Niebuhr

“God, grant me the serenity, to accept the things
I cannot change.
The courage to change the things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference!”

I guess, I too can be heartless and slam doors. Friends come and go at PS. Sometimes I care far too much. At that point, the Serenity prayer comes into play. I am not a toy to any poet here. Thank you. Pangie xxx

Good you liked this. Indeed, that serenity prater is so superb, and can be said over and over in times of rough times. There is more to it online, but mst of humanity knows and uses the shorter version.be of good cheer. Hugs, Pangie xx

What a great first line, Pangie, about a not so nice thing. And the third line is something else, too-having a direct line to the moon is descriptive and clever!

Hi Tom,,I apologize fro not answering your email. We have been friends for so long. One of your best qualities is humility, you are ab excellent poet and as for friendship? You are a state and unconverted. I am glad my tribute to you is in the first anthology. Yesterday was two tears ago I broke my leg and Elena’s 21st wedding anniversary! I think sometimes I trust the wrong people, and I don’t mean you! Sweet Sunday, Pangie xx **
