He Sang To His Sister

HE SANG TO HIS SISTER

The mother was excited when she heard the news that day:
A little sister for her son was coming on the way!
The little boy would cuddle up to where the baby grew
And every day he’d sing to her as only he could do.
But as the birthing time drew near, it seemed to go awry,
And it appeared if she was born she surely soon would die.
The little girl was premature, the doctor seemed so sure
This fragile child in ICU would not for long endure.
The parents of the little boy, who once were all so glad
Now planned this girl’s funeral as they became so sad.
The little boy came to his mom and begged her to him bring
Beside the baby one more time so she could hear him sing.
He didn’t know he couldn’t go into this special place,
And Mother found it hard to keep the tears from off her face.
But finally, with determined love, she took him there one day
With hope that they would let him in to see her as she lay.
The nursing staff resisted her, said, “He cannot be here,
He’s not allowed to be with her, to visit or be near.”
But somehow Mother got him in, and he began to sing
And suddenly her eyes grew bright and to life she did cling.
“Keep singing to your sister, son!” Mom said with hope anew,
It seems she’s heard your voice before; she knows somehow it’s you!”
The little girl grew quiet then, a glow came to her face
As he continued with his song there in that special place.
The miracle they saw that day might be explained some way,
But something that I thought about I’ll share with you today.
She’d heard his songs to her before as she grew there inside,
She hadn’t heard him since that day and thought that he had died.
And now as he sang once again, she knew he still was there
And had a reason now to live--to hear his voice so fair!
It shows to me that little child was living all those days
And longing just to see that boy who sang that special way.
Yes, babies inside mothers’ wombs are very much alive
And know there is a world outside in which they want to thrive.
If they could talk or sing to us, I know what they would say,
“I want to live when I am born, not have life snuffed away.”
That little boy had faith to know his sister lived inside--
Americans need to repent for all that there have died.
Some ruling may have come to give a woman her free choice,
But someone special was left out of his right or his voice.
It’s time to stop this bloody trail that this decision brings
And take the time to hear this boy as to his sister sings.
