He Said

Last night he said he loved me
This brought a happy heart
To think he purely loves me
When we’re so far apart
Last night he said he loved me
Hence I never did berate
Yell or scream none of mean
Words to my soulmate.
Does he truly know
The power of his words when he’s uplifting?
Bringing us together so we shall not be drifting.
How he thrills me when he stills me
Captivates me by surprise,
Those three old words rarely heard
Wonderful and wise.
Last night he said he loved me 
For this my heart did sing
To tell me this brought joy and bliss
From him means everything.
