He Loves Me So

Saffron petals, plucked rhythmically
Until a single petal remains attached
Not the answer I desire, so I move on
Find the next flower in the garden
Loves me yes, loves me not
Over and over until the last one stands tall
Whimsically revealing, he loves me so
Elated, I skip through the golden field
Rejoicing in my youthful fantasy

I tried that once using clover leaves, she loves me, she loves me not, she loves me... yippee, oh no, it’s a four leaf clover. Just my luck. Smashing poem, Avery Won. Congratulations. Terry
