He Gave His Life For Me
When I look back at yesterday,
And reflect on another way,
I now will pause and humbly say,
Thank you Lord for a time to pray.
I thought that I was so content,
I cared not how my time was spent.
In worldly ways I would not relent
I saw no need to thus repent.
And then one day in my distress
I did, a simple truth, address.
I really was in quite a mess
And this I did, to Him, confess.
He on that day my sin forgave
And declared me no longer to sin a slave.
I finally started learning how to behave
Because to me a new life He gave.
His life He gave for me,
So I could from sin be free.
He saved me for eternity,
Yes, He gave His life for me.
