That gold leafed hard cover, that’s what would swing it
She gave him the title and asked him to bring it
Dad always answered to her delectations
And next day he handed her ‘Great Expectations’
Just the right size and just the right weight
An old fashioned read but it should balance great
She tired of the story for so much was bleak
But that tome would serve her well, week after week
‘Learning’ she needs like a hole in the head
She’d wed a rich sucker who’s easily led
But she used to walk like a duck on a bike
Yet now she has poise that is so ladylike
