He Fell In Love With Her At Thirteen

Suzette was as innocent as John had ever seen. Her golden hair glittered like an angel’s harp Her hazel eyes held him spellbound within seconds. He fell in love with her when he was thirteen. Throughout his tour of Viet Nam, he thought of her. Those hazel eyes pranced in his dreams. She sent him a blue ribbon from her hair When they started writing letters. She put perfume on it. His buddies teased him about it, but not harshly. He kept hope alive that they would be together after his tour. He did not make it home, but his buddies made sure That he was put into his casket with that blue ribbon.

Thank you Disha. I wrote this in honor of the young optimistic soldiers who are sent overseas to a war.
