He Blessed Me

He blessed me with a family I dearly love He blessed me with a spirit sent from God above He blessed me with the knowledge he is there for me He blessed me with his light even when I couldn't see He blessed me with compassion to offer a helping hand He blessed me with ability to see his footsteps in the sand He blessed me with faith I could somehow muddle through He blessed me with knowledge of the things I must pursue He blessed me with the strength to walk through that prison door He blessed me with insight to see he had better things in store He blessed me with the will to hold on to him when I wasn't strong He blessed me with courage to fight even when it seemed to long He blessed me with a mothers heart to love unconditionally He blessed me with knowledge I might also falter occasionally He blessed me with hope I might be fogiven for mistakes along the way He blessed me with faith that I can return to him someday Copyright © 2007 Patricia Contreras I think the hardest thing so far was walking into the prison to visit my son. Heart broken and afraid I prayed with all my might I would be able to do it. Yet knowing this was the right thing if he had not gone he would most likely be dead. The Lord has given me so much. Along with lots of trials to help me find my own inner strength.
