Have You Ever Dialed a Sunflower

Have you ever dialed a sunflower? Lawrence stared at Dorie, she was a beauty And he was in love with her. His grandpa had admitted he had dated a ginger once. But grandma came in so that was the end of that. Lawrence loved everything about her green eyes and her red hair. She was smart, and funny, and he wanted to spend his life with her. Don’t be in a hurry! His parents had told him. It has only been six months. Six months was long enough. He knew. He watched her pretend to dial the sunflower. The sun on her hair made her appear magical, like a pixie. He asked her to marry him after the dialing was over. She squealed like a happy six year old. He could not wait to be married to her, so he could live the rest of his life in fear, like his grandpa

Hmmm...sort of bittersweet, I'd say. Interesting story, well-told.

Quite original though it seems to have a sad ending. Hugs.
