Have You Ever

Have you ever felt you don't belong
                   In the wrong church, singing the wrong song
                      Never the right room in the right house
                   Or even the right room in the wrong house
                    Always the wrong song in the wrong room

                      Have you ever felt from a different time
                                  A different space
                       Where everything felt exactly in place
                        It was the perfect fit, all was in tune
                         And all was right, like puzzle pieces
                    Edges clean and perfect, no errant creases

                         Have you ever felt you couldn't talk
                         Or couldn't walk like everyone else
                      Seven steps off, unable to walk the walk
                               Or talk the talk, but------
                         Give this some thought, what if-----

                      You WERE in the right church singing
                       The right song in the right room of
                        The right house of the right time of
                    The right space of the right place in which
                                  YOU DID BELONG----
                       And everyone else was WRONG.......
