Have Some Fun
The songbirds chirp, praising the sun,
nestled in the leaves of the trees:
while the air is abuzz with bees.
Subduing Spring, Summer has won
with relentless sweltering heat:
while peonies bloom, smelling sweet.
Spring's short days and long nights are done
and in Summer's extended light
hatchlings fledge: preparing for flight.
It is time to go for a run,
go swimming, or tan on the beach:
while keeping sunscreen within reach.
Kick up your heels, and have some fun
partake in a game of baseball,
or go camping, it'll soon be Fall.
