Have Only Just Begun

Have Only Just Begun

I’ve sailed the Atlantic Ocean,
Swam the seven seas.
Lived out in the wilderness,
Made a home from the trees.

I’ve climbed Mt. Everest,
Skied down the other side.
Raced in the Indianapolis,
Just for the enjoyment of the ride.

I’ve hit a homer in Mile High Stadium,
Pitched a no hitter against the Yanks.
Hunted for bear in the cannons,
Rode a dog sled on the banks.

Seems I’ve done it all,
From California clear to Maine.
But something brings me back,
To the place where I came.

My adventurous life I’ll leave behind,
Settle down and raise a son.
But my dreams for this child,
Have only just begun
