Have I Suffered Enough
Listen to poem:
HAVE I SUFFERED ENOUGH
Reminiscing through all my memories lying around in my mind
Stored within different prisms, plucked whenever I am inclined
Happier times oft-repeated, sometimes I can never get enough
Helps me over the times when the going was sometimes rough
Life in all has been good to me; I'm more than grateful for that
I accept that I am just a member of this world’s blessed habitat
Always had a home, food upon my plate, a bed to sleep at night
And freedom to walk upon this earth as was my God-given right
Witnessed wars, genocide, starvation, as others homeless plight
Forgetting never how lucky I am with a life that is always alright
Never lived this life without expecting that the hammer could fall
To shatter my illusions, my life ripped apart as be God’s only call
So I may truly suffer others suffering in their troubled pained life
Understand their emotions, of a life filled with nothing, but strife
To leave this earth one day, knowing what life really had to teach
That there are other levels of pain on this earth one has to reach
Before one can say that they have truly on this earth really lived
Until then one cannot stand in front of God, and be truly bridged
