Have I Lived

Have I Lived?

I used to feel time was endless
that it was on my side
It seems as though I'm mistaken
time seems to have lied

My life is close to ending
many say they've lived life full
I wish this was the case for me
over my eyes I guess there was wool

I missed out on many minutes
and days, months, even years
I was simply just existing
now I sit here alone with my tears

I can wish this and want for that
truth is that does no good
I should have paid attention
and lived my life where I stood

I feel like I've got nothing
to leave with people in my life
I wanted to be remembered
not only as someone's wife

But all I have is who I am
I'll stand firm in my own self worth
For if you know me you'll know I tried
to do my best while I was here on earth.
