Have Faith Refined Version
October 2025
Dalton Ogletree
You better always have faith,
And keep your mind straight in this giant rat race.
If you sit still, you’ll slip out of place,
Never try — don’t cry when you get last place.
I was living half-awake, half-baked,
Burnin’ through paychecks — habits I can’t shake.
The aftertaste hit harder than the heartbreak,
Hidin’ my pain behind a calm, masked face.
Need focus like a beam, can’t sleep on these snakes,
Watch ’em chase tails in a blind man’s race.
Fragile as pride on a glass plate,
Talk tough till the mask breaks.
Soft souls guarded by a brass gate,
Actin’ like kings but they move second-rate.
At times we all catch a bad break,
But pressure makes diamonds — that’s fate.
Turn the tide, this life moves fast-paced,
In a vast space where few find grace.
Even if you’re late to the handshake,
Still climb high, cut through that red tape.
When the grind clicks, it begins to take shape,
Some give none, just stuff their fat face.
There’ll be blood, sweat, tears, and backaches,
But every crack builds strength when the past breaks.
Life floods and drains — it gives, it takes,
Every dam breaks once you hold too much weight.
Let it flow, don’t drown in the heartbreak —
The world still shines, even if you can’t relate.
So keep your faith.
Through the struggle, the pain, the landscapes —
When the world shakes, remember what it takes:
To rise, rebuild, and reshape.
You better always have faith.
