Haunting Hoots

 Silent in flight
 Deadly in the night
 Haunting hoots give prey fright

 With prey out of sight
 Owls hear just right
 Silent in flight

 Talons of might
 at the ready to smite
 Deadly in the night

 Moon is bright
 Prey learn their plight
 Haunting hoots give prey fright

' Silent in flight, ' but ' deadly in the night. ' These ' haunting hoots, ' are sneaky creatures, indeed. Such vivid imagery within, Joseph. This is so beautifully expressed and presented. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

Lovely imagery and also rhymes throughout. I especially loved “ Talons of might at the ready to smite Deadly in the night” very descriptive. Pleasure reading this. Sending you light

yes, those hoots sound really spooky at night, especially to the prey!

Owls can be very vocal. They are amazing in flight. I enjoy your poem about these grand birds.
