Haunted

Right now my heart is sore,
              broken.
A kiss not forced but taken,
How do things so simple and sweet,
Turn out so complicated and bitter?
I wish that time would just erase
All the pain your lies have
                caused.
But it can't and it won't
I cannot forgive you
Not now and not ever.
I feel the blood drain from my
face the last of it to go.
The knife that have held so long
Finally falls from my lifeless hands
What you have done will forever haunt you.
A life is gone from this world
All because you can't face the truth.
All because I wouldn't see
the lies behind that smile.

Alexis, I hope your heart has healed. I can't help but wonder if the "life...gone from this world" was a miscarriage or abortion. Not my business, but I sense great pain in this well-presented verse. Love and blessings, Carolyn
