Hasdrubal the Boetharch Pt 2

So it be, lover,
And so must we believe
The pagan life awaiting us;

It leaves a sour taste in my head,
But everyone is blind, and their tongues
never reach beyond their own lips.

I love you, you say on my couch,
But upon the stage will I garnish you
With the feathers of my angel wings;

I give a piece of myself to you, my love.

They all serenade my mysticism,
And with their fragile hearts, fall in love
Upon a moonless night.
