Harry and Meghan

Though Harry did marry
The girl of his dreams
That move was contrary
In some ways, it seems.

For royals are loyal
To country and Queen,
Yet tensions did boil;
Life wasn’t serene.

Some trouble did bubble
‘Tween Harry and Will
And Meghan found royalty
Less than a thrill.

Reporters, on orders,
Too, gave them no peace.
Despite their supporters,
Their angst did increase.

In rebuke, both the duke
And the duchess agreed
That the limelight was something
They just didn’t need.

So to cope, what they hope
Is to step down and move
To Toronto, though Buckingham
Might not approve.

There’s debate so we wait
To see how this all ends,
For this “Megxit,” like “Brexit”
Our own lives transcends.

Personally the whole thing about royalty in this century is ridiculous and antiquated, not to mention a burden on taxpayers who must support their often extravagant life-styles. And why? If I'm not mistaken, they all eat and defecate like the rest of us. / M

Enjoyed the extra rhymes. They’re just getting out early instead of waiting to be pushed aside in the next generation.

One need not be a chess master to realise when professional actress checks professional queen, the actress loses! Aloha! Rico

Love that 'Megxit,' Ilene. When they wed, I told my wife -- three years max. Why the Queen let that marriage go through, I have no clue. Oh, well: To Toronto they will go. Ha, Ha. Love to see the Royal Turmoil!!! :)

WONDERFULLY executed, Ilene! But we must all remember Meghan is a professional actress and young Harry is like putty in her hands! Aloha! Rico

It's history repeating itself Ilene - who can forget Edward and Mrs Simpson ... both princes fell for the charms of an American divorcee!:-) hugs Jan xx
