Hardened Heart

Hardened Heart
Category: Writing and Poetry

A life reckless with most emotions on cuff

roughly feeling through dark rooms wanting only a flicker

but received so bitter and torn by her scathing glare

only by the tenderness of the skeptic eyes observed

She spoke no words and smiled only so slightly

lovely yet wounded, this roses' thorns were carefully placed

Desire kept locked behind love taken for granted

even handed-her new found glory is a cold facade

coyly painted on-she hurts them for hurts sake.

Paying no mind, I see the toll its taking

Her mind is set to deny her heart

Id give anything for her to feel loved
