Hard Facts

I signed up I put my name on the line To take a turn at happiness And forget the sublime They took me in a room And said “take off your clothes” We need to see if you’re gifted Or simply disposed Well I guess I missed the mark I was an inch or two too short So I guess that I'll never be A friend of Deep Throats It seems like a pity Because I thought that I could act But it ain’t about that And that’s a cold hard fact.

It's difficult to take a hard hit in the face. You can take it. You are in control..and you write magically! Always, Laura

I think I should rephrase my remarks for the lack of clarity.( I spelled course instead of coarse... duh ) I meant to say that the poem expresses a coarse and brutal truth and that the last two lines indicate that happiness is more than a question of virility.

Your pen gets right to a course and brutal truth with this one. The last two lines wraps up the meaning perfectly.

I suppose I could explain my perception in a little more detail, but I may have to blush a little :)
