Happy Spectacle

Welcome to the spectacle
That’s really all I am
A pretty smiling show and tell
Of things that’ve never been

I’ll tell you all these happy things
And act like they are real
Although I know it can’t be true
It’s just to damn surreal

With sparkling sequins on my clothes
And glitter in my hair
“I’m so happy, my dear friends
And I know that you’ll be there

“You’ll be there when ever I fall down
And when I loose it all
You’ll even be there when I fail
I’m not afraid at all!”

It’s all a lie, I smile and cry
I wish I wore more black
It would hide all the color I loose to the night
And the dark stripes I can’t take back
