Happy New Year

Happy New Year
the crowds around me cheer

still I am deafened by explosions
as i read about the Ghaza strip
and cry out for peace
for this coming Happy New Year.

Happy New Year
so we always say

as others still go hungry
and others just don't get a pay
no matter how hard they work
in factories that seem to suck their life away.

Happy New Year
let's make it a better year

Happy New Year
with no anger and no fears.

A reminder to not forget those less fortunate, ever, and to pray for peace. Happy, healthy new year to you. May it be a good one for all of us in every way. Love, Shar

Leslie - Many truths in this Poem - Sadly enough in life there is no happy without sad or gain without loss - The state the world is in is a very sad thing - Hopefully 2009 things will get better - God Bless, MJ
