Happy Herbie

One for the kiddies or kiddies at heart! There's a bunch of furry animals Running around our house Cats and dogs and ferrets And even a little mouse! Now Mom and Dad aren't happy With mousies running wild But we love our cute little furry friends They bring us lots of smiles! Our mousie plays a pretty fine fiddle That big folks cannot hear Unaware of those real happy tunes Dancing in their ears! I've named him Happy Herbie He brings me so much joy It's hard to think he's really real He seems like just a toy! Don't think I want to ever grow up And lose this special gift Seeing things through little eyes In a kiddies world I'm adrift © Jack Ellison 2014

I read this to my kids, (we have a snow day here), and my son Will wants you to write one about a fat cat! They liked this one, Thanks.

His name is Will...and he is a character, seven years old and he uses words like "particularly." He is fired up and smiling.

Ah... Today my last child Casey is leaving the nest to go into the Army Infantry... We'll all be lonely-er... even Dragon. It's Veterns Day here so Dragon and I wrote him a going away poem called 'Flaming Son'. Tomorrow Dragon and I will be off to find some more episodes... perhaps we have a little furry friend running around here, too... Here Mousie... Here Mousie... Darn another mole came running ... and with his family... No Less... Oh well... The more the errier I always say!... LOL
