Happy Black History Month

Black History Month

The month of February is special
It represents love
It also is black history month
So many paved the way
So we can be who we are today
I give honor
And want to salute So many
Like Sojourner Truth , Harriet Tubman , they fulfilled certain roles
Thanks for helping with the Underground Railroad and help freeing the slaves
We are thankful for the rest of our days
Dreams oh dreams
We are thankful for Dr Martin Luther King ,
He did So much , for us to begin
He wanted us to be judged by our character not the color of our skin , he saw love , he saw Truth, he wanted to make a difference
For everyone including the youth
He had the spark
We also remember Rosa Parks
She was quiet wouldn't put up a fuss
She didnt give up her seat on the bus
Then there was Thurgood Marshall, Fredrick Douglass ,and Booker T Washington those are just a few that let you know dreams do come true
We had so many Who invented different things
George Larimer, with the light, Garrett Morgan too he invented traffic lights to guide our way through.
Benjamin Banneker did not stop
He help us tell time with the clock ,
Katherine Johnson went to outer space
Jackie Robinson taught us baseball 1st 2nd, and third base
Venus and Serena lived the dream
Playing tennis the perfect duo , sisters , a team
Madam C J Walker wanted you to look your best
She created hair products she did invest
Its so dope
I meant Art
Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou
Showed a totally different view
There are so many more names
They all were a part of the change
We needed hard work, dedication, putting an end to segregation
Standing as a nation
Unity ,you and me
Freedom of speech, practice makes perfect
We are all worth it
His story, her story
God gets all the Glory
The heartaches , all the pain
We have overcome , more sunshine ?? than rain
I could go down the list
So many
More did exist,
Thankful for them all
They struggled but they never did fall
Black History Month is magic
We've had alot of tragic
But we excelled
Little boys and girls
Can be anything they want in this world
Dreams are being made
Generational curses are being broken ??
We are more than what meets the eye
Its already spoken
I've said it before
Thanks for opening ?? doors
And carrying out a vision to see
I celebrate, salute and im thankful
For Black History
