Happiness That I Was After

You might have had the intelligence
and the motive for money I never needed
to appear as though you succeeded
to buy a wardrobe you posed in
comparable progress
where you would focus on yourself
as if you outdid everyone else
an ever searching quest for wealth
for a value no one felt
and that’s where you would count your blessings
but I must confess no messing
I was never on that mission
mine was happiness your missing
able to connect to beings
without judgement for the memories
making friends not enemies or pretends
chase your purchase I’m at events
I was always more content
while you focused on content
and you compared yourself to me
but that was not what I would need
you have your views but I’m happy
your possessions were important
I could bond when you were awkward
You had money but I had fortune

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
