Happiness Is Feeling Safe
Happiness Is Feeling Safe 7
Kevin Davis 2025
Happiness is cool water easing thirst,
a bowl filled deep enough to calm hunger.
It is a roof that holds against the wind,
a place of rest where warmth endures.
Happiness is quiet certainty—
that no hands will ever bring you harm,
that silence carries no sharpened words,
but only the calm of being secure.
Happiness is kindness circling near,
the comfort of being truly seen.
It is laughter rising in familiar rooms,
a heart at home in belonging.
Happiness is respect and grace,
the glow in others’ eyes at your name.
It is meeting your own gaze in the mirror,
and smiling at who smiles back.
Happiness is the whisper of becoming,
effort unfolding into bloom.
It is standing tall within your story,
and feeling safe to live it through.
