Happiness
I begin each word in Allah’s name,
Which gave life, light, and power, all the same.
Like a swallow sprinkling water with its wings,
With poetry, I bring hope, like sunshine it sings.
In my chest, I thank Allah, my soul so bright,
In my veins, the current of inspiration takes flight.
Perhaps my reader is parched, longing for rhyme,
I’ll pour my verses, like a river, in time.
How blessed is the dawn’s early light,
Waking up safe and sound from the night.
The East ablaze with the sun’s red glow,
The horizon is painted, with colors that flow.
Happiness is the air you breathe in deep,
Stretching towards the sun, as you wake from sleep.
Washing your face, shaking off the dream,
Moving forward in life, as it flows like a stream.
Happiness is endless, it seems to me,
In the morning, greeting family, so free.
So many have passed, with no trace to recall,
Not even lighting a fire, not leaving a word small.
