Hanging On...

Silently...
Patiently... 
I wait for my time 

day after day
always the same
knowing somehow
progress is being made

if even only 
(watching from the distance)

hanging on
to every word
everything You've ever said
You're hanging on
and won't let go
You have my soul, You're in control


dangling here
over the depths of hell
with eyes fixed
on the gates of Heaven

will I ever pull myself up
or am I too weak
in time letting go
only to drop

somehow knowing
(You'll be there to catch me)

hanging on

no one around
yet not on my own
trying to find
the courage within

looking back at where I began
(I can't turn away now)
