Hands of Comfort
HANDS OF COMFORT
There are many ways you move your hands to say what’s on your mind,
But in this hour of sudden loss there’s no way you can find
To show the grief that’s in your heart as you have seen one go
From this life to another one, someone that you loved so.
I know your loss--I’ve had one, too, and through it all I’ve found
God’s hands of comfort and of love have always been around.
Though I don’t know the way to sign my sympathy for you,
I know the One with precious hands to do what I can’t do.
My prayers are for you at this time, though I can’t speak with hands,
I’m glad I know a greater One who with His comfort can.
God’s hands of comfort reach to you to lift you from your grief,
His hands are there to carry you if you show your belief.
And you can talk to God above in your own words and way,
And He will hear what I cannot when unto Him you pray.
So lift your hands up to the skies and tell Him how you feel,
And hands of comfort will reach down, and you will know He’s real.
God has no barriers of time or language in the way,
And you will never stand in line whene’er you need to pray.
May hands of comfort from above now say what I can’t say
In these brief lines I write to you to comfort you today.
Written for a friend who was hearing impaired
