Halloweenscream

Little feet walking, eyes searching keen
looking through a mask at a spooky scene
down a long sidewalk even darker still
out of the corner a scream, oh so shrill
the little monster drops his bag full of treat
moving back to mama swift on his feet
tears sliding down that awful frightened face
just getting out of there, stepping up the pace
never looking back as to who it could be
there is my neighbor Bill calling out, Sorry……
knowing now that ghosts and goblins roam
My little monster says, I wanna go home…..
