Halloween Night
Out alone on this dark Halloween night,
No welcoming lights anywhere in sight,
I swear I hear footsteps following me,
I turn quickly but there is nothing to see.
Walking faster to get home,
But I know that I am not alone,
Sensing a dark shadow on the prowl,
Hearing huffing, growling and a howl.
Standing before me are red glowing eyes,
My end is near I realize,
Swiping at me with sharp bloody claws,
Suddenly my candy bag is in his paws.
Chomping down hard on a Payday and a Baby Ruth,
Just to satisfy his sick sweet tooth,
At first I thought he was going to kill me,
Now I'm just pissed he stole my candy.
Walking home down the street,
Empty handed without any treats,
Because of a bully that didn't need a mask,
Was leaving me one little piece too much to ask?
