Halloween

I wear my fancy costume. Is that a skeleton you exhumed? I hope it’s just a display. With a sound effect that plays. Is that blood covering your face? Is that a monster prepared to chase? Your house is a little creepy. With spider webs hanging in a tree. You invite me inside. Was that a ghost that cried? I suggest we go to the party across the street. You don’t have anything good to eat. But then you pull out a severed toe. In the oven is roast crow. I say goodbye and goodnight. To avoid a curse at midnight. As I’m leaving, I can’t help but see. A normal bowl of candy. I’m a little hungry, so I take a piece. Walking home, I feel unease. I think I’m a werewolf, with this feeling imbued. That house is haunted, I know that to be true!
