Half My Life

I made a discovery today,
that nearly blew me away.
I received such a shock,
when I realised you’re my rock.

It’s been so very long,
and how fast time has gone.
It was just yesterday we met,
but time has flown without regret.

There have been so many years,
of shared laughter and tears.
There have been ups and downs,
along with smiles and frowns.

We stood firm and persevered,
and together we endured,
Through the good times and the bad,
as well as the happy and the sad.

We’ve been husband and wife,
for nearly half my life.
