Hail To the Chief

For 24 minutes he spoke to his country on the anniversary of the CDC declaring the pandemic. Not one lie did he tell as President Biden announced that finally Americans would receive financial help that so many have needed long before now. At odds with that relief, not one Republican voted 'yes,' shamefully following the Trumpean creed.

Americans suffered
while the right shuffled their feet
Biden signed the bill

His empathy was obvious; his messages delivered with clarity and hope. Not once did he pat his own back or denounce the right for turning theirs on much needed relief. Humility is something the presidency has lacked since 2016, but now it's back. Hypocrites who've sneered and called him names will be very happy to cash the checks. He's giving his countrymen a light in this time of darkness. There's a man in the White House that loves his country. A masked man that I'm proud to call, Mr. President.

a man of honor
ridiculed and vilified
by misguided dupes

so well said Jenna, He is a remarkable man, just been watching a programme about his stammering - not many can stand up as he does and speak to the nation, he may be slow in his speech at times but given time he is going to bring America back to being great once more:-) hugs jan xx

Well penned Jenna , so agree with your sentiments. Hope that the new president can turn things around for you guys, he's an inspiration to me as coming out and telling of his stammer through his life as I've struggled all of life with my stammer too. Blessings,Gordon

He's certainly trying to repair the damage from the last 4 years, but people are stubborn and blind. Thanks, Gordon.

Amen. I’m discouraged to see so many states attempting to make voting more difficult for people. Well expressed piece. Hugs Rick.

The fact is that not one single Republican voted support because, to the GOP mind, Americans struggling to survive just aren't worth that much! Aloha! Rico

The only things worthy to them are money and power. My country tis for ME is their mantra. Thanks, Rico.

Thank you so much,Tom. There is a lot that needs fixing after four years of nothing but lies, division and self indulgence from the former seat holder.

I enjoyed your poem Jenna, it’s so refreshing to hear something positive about our president instead of the normal gloom and doom. Great job!!
