Haiku--Hordes Emerge

hordes emerge from ground
        time for piercing mating call
               unique cicadas

I know growing up in MS you are familiar with the cicada. Probably sit on the porch many a night listening to them go on and on. It's one of those sounds that can transport you through time. These were my thoughts after reading your haiku. Good stuff, Janice!!!

Thanks so much, Line! I don't write haiku often. When I do, I'm always wondering if it's a REAL haiku! Janice
