Hi Anne, In your haiku poem you captured the hawk's skill set so well. I loved the graphic pic that accompanied the poem. This winter one has been stalking my cat on and off, so I had to vary her schedule on going out and to supervise her which she doesn't appreciate at all.

They do what they do as you so cleverly note. There is a competition in nature that gradually changes the behavior and survivability of species (evolution). Carnivores in the wild are relentless and will likely be that way for the foreseeable future. I don't expect the hawks to take a seat at the table and wait to be served.

Catching its prey, lost feathers…hard work to get food in nature. xx

Like my poem on the dragonfly, nature has its cruelties. Survival of the fittest. Hugs, xx

Your haiku, Anne, is truly exceptional. It evokes a sense of empathy towards the prey, as they are subject to the immutable laws of Nature that govern all beings.

It’s hard not to feel bad for the prey, but everyone follows the rules of Nature. Well done, Anne-Lise!

Sadly that's nature, predators have to survive too. Enjoy your week ahead Anne-Lise. Tom
