Oh! I thought I’d already commented on this one! So clever. I saw in Mick’s latest haiku competition rules that haiku shouldn’t contain simile or metaphor. That’s such a shame! This is a perfect example of why.

Thanks, Nina. It iseems curious rule that doesn’t align with much Western poetry where figures of speech abound. No doubt it fits the Japanese philosophy.
