Had I Not

HAD I NOT

As you lay there sleeping,
I wonder what would have been,
if I had not met you,
in a sea of men.

Would I have met someone,
who would've beat on me for fun?
Then my life would always be,
forever on the run.

There could have been a rich man
just wanting a trophy wife.
Never being loved
for the rest of my life.

But then I look again
oh yes it's you
the man I always wanted
who won't make me feel blue.
