Guilty Conscious

It's a voice from inside, that hopefully will let you know
Telling you its side, as its weight begins to grow
Over and over its case it keeps debating reminding you of when
And even after finally abating still reminds you now and then

Some have voices that are loud, and some voices are no longer there
Some are tedious and proud and yet others don't really care
But this voice is truly you saying what in reality is fair
And so this voice is true as it is your own essence bare

Advice you should heed or maybe it too will leave
Forget avarice and greed oh how easily they can deceive
So now you face this choice of who you really are
Knowing listening to this voice has always keep you on par

And even now it is speaking to you reminding you of your past
Saying what was really true in a life that has moved so fast
Only having your interest at heart and telling you from day one
Be careful in all that you do for from me you can not run
