Guidance

God guides me as I travel life's maze
Occasionally finding a wall
Dare I scale it? Go around it?
My spirit rises - and then it falls

It's interesting though, who shall I become?
As I strive to find my way
Showing love to others - letting them see through
The masks I wear as I play

I'll let them see little bits at a time
And trust I'll not be hurt
Walls will diminish, my world expand
As with life's events I flirt

Each day seems to carry me
Right back to my father, God
He's waited as I tried to control
Life's journey, which I judged as hard

He showed me the value and necessity
Of the love of family and friends
He offers me peace - I think I'll accept
And my weariness will end.
