Guess I'M Heading For Trouble

There comes a time in my life when I have to admit I’m a failure
I speak with forked tongue, I simply can’t hide it
Yesterday I made a promise and I’ve broken it again
Are my marriage vows now heading down the drain

I will confess I was tempted by its exotic allure
But I’m an orchidaholic there is simply no cure
Went shopping tonight and to my delight
On a stunning orchid my eyes did alight

I looked at my husband and he could see what I could see
Then he climbed up and got it down off the shelf for me
Dived into his wallet and this time he paid
Guess this time my marriage has been saved

But twenty one orchids is where I must stop
Or I will be banned for life from every orchid selling shop

Sometimes trouble turns into something very beautiful, especially when you have a husband like that. You are a lucky lady, Jan. Such a well written poem, my friend and a pleasure to read..... Robert.

This sounds a LOT like me - only I've never grown orchids, but other plants. I DO love gardening. Wonderful poem and I just loved it. Happy writing and God bless you.

Do you know my wife? I think it is some kind of an infection that only women get, and btw, WE (the guys) always dive into our wallets. Still, the flowers are so purty...Thanks Jan ;)

Keith I get them when they are on offer or reduced I have got 3 this week £3, £5 and £5 so they aren't expensive and they last so much longer than a bunch of flowers. One I had for my birthday in January has only just lost its flowers this week - amazing value for money and the challenge for me is to get them to re-flower year on year - that gives me immense pleasure :-) thanks for the lovely comment. Expensive broke promise there Jan! :) there are worse things to spend money on, at least you pay for the beauty and ambiance of the home! Hey, is it true certain orchids are illegal to pick or own? I think I saw something pertaining to this in a movie?

Yes Casarah but at least hubby bought this one for me so I can't be in too much trouble - this one is so unusual the flowers are almost a pale green colour with purple flecks :-) I must stop or we will need a bigger house LOL Hugs Jan xxx
