Guardrails On Scary Roads

GUARDRAILS ON SCARY ROADS

We all can drive some scary roads that I have often seen,
They’re full of hills and sharpest curves, not smooth and so serene.
One thing I’ve noticed on some roads that really caused a scare:
There were no guardrails on the roads protecting for me there!
I heard that they were so designed to help us see the curves,
So if they’re missing like these were, it can get on our nerves!
For if a driver lost control, they’d help to steer the way
To keep from falling off the road to tragedy that day.
Yes, I’d not like a road without those guardrails on the way,
But as I gave some thought to that, I realized today
That God puts guardrails on the road of life that we now live
To give us warning of the curves and hills that it may give.
The guardrails are there in His word, in statements clear and plain;
He does not miss a single one, nor is one there in vain.
So if your life’s a scary road, like mine has often been,
The guardrails of God’s word are there to keep your life from sin.
If all of us would cruise life’s road with the guardrails in our mind,
We’d not as likely veer off course to in a bad place find.
They all are there in every curve, and there on every hill,
So pay heed to what each one warns so you’ll stay in God’s will!
