Growth
Did my growth stir up your anger?
Did my boundaries cause some fear?
Sorry, if I left you hanging
But I had to disappear
Yes, I did, while you still see me
Though I’m guarded, I’m awake
I see the manipulation
And I hide for my own sake
All the lies and the gaslighting
Mentally I was a wreck
But I slowly found my footing
Now I’m strong and I fight back
Not with words as you expected
Not a punch even I’ll throw
But I’ll keep my poise and calmness
While I’m healing, while I grow
And I’ve come to find my value
It is real, and I’m amazed
Yes, my dignity, my conscience
All of it is so unfazed
Finally, I’ve found the power
And it brings peace to my soul
I am free and I am worthy
No longer under your control.
