Growing Up
I taught her to walk,
than I taught her to fight.
I taught her to spell,
than I taught her to lie.
I taught her to sing
and never to cry
I told her that wrong
really was right.
What a horrible sister
truely am I
She'll tell you I taught her
all about life,
to stand for yourself,
never give into the fight,
to speak of the truth
hidden in lies,
to face life and its harshness,
in darkness seek light
What a wonderful sister
truely am I
I'm glad that she found
her own lessons in life
and turned them around
to serve her just right
how very profound
all this is to me
why couldn't I see
the things she could see
guess thats the difference
'tween herself and me
