Grievance With Myself

I have a grievance with myself
In my thoughts, my words and deeds
And I've come to the conclusion
Maybe I shouldn't be

I am who I am, I cannot help
What I think or feel
I strive to live a good life
Yet at times it's so surreal

I love, I laugh, I even cry
Regrets I've had my share
At times I've felt the world's wronged me
At times I've felt it cared

And no matter how I try
To put my feelings on a shelf
They come right back that's why I have
This grievance with myself
