Grief

G rief R emorse I s E verybody's F ear No one is smiling today As the coffin takes my son away Grief-stricken, we stand and stare With a hole in our hearts That death leaves there As we stare without seeing Realising death comes to all human beings God takes us in his time The next funeral attendance Could be mine Or any person in the world As the script of our life span is unfurled God alone has the eternal plan For every human woman or man The day will come when we must part And fill the void, that hole in our heart To meet our loved ones again Freedom at last without the pain Of living a life of sorrow And look forward to a peaceful tomorrow

Fine mortal write Shirley. It isn't in our lost smiles that cause hurt, but theirs. The knowing or not knowing that make the days short or long. -Richard

I feel this as my mama died on the 14th. A numbness, a hole, a sweet life yet we must look ahead to our own death and life beyond the pale. Hugs and God bless you, Shirley.

Oh dear, I am truly sorry for the loss of your mama. You Know it has to happen one day but it still shocks us when it happens. I know when my mum died 30 yrs ago, I felt like it was the end of an era. Take comfort from the happy memories you have of your mama until you meet again. God bless you Kim, and your family at this sad time. Take care ...

My favorite quote comes from the film Meet Joe Black: There is no escaping taxes and death. A sad poem. You captures the emotion very well.
