Notes About The Poem

9/26/2026 for Color My World Poetry Contest sponsored by Nette Onclaud

Grey in November

Will I, grey sky drear,
e'er see her again?
Blue skies disappear.
Blue eyes feel the pain
as they shed a tear
of November rain.

I'm with you. Especially when on increasingly short November days, it's just rain and more rain, day after dreary day. ~ from the land of Sky Blue Waters

I'm having a flashback to listening to Vin Scully call Dodger games on the radio in the 60s, advertizing Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. If that memory is not mixed up after 6 decades, it must show the effectiveness of good advertising. Haha, googled it "land of sky blue waters" is Hamms, not Pabst! Probably both made up your way, I presume! If you're adventurous: Google "November Tom Waits" to get a great song/video take on that month.
