Greeting Cards

I love receiving greeting cards
On birthdays or occasions
And sending them, as well,
Which kind of evens the equations.

Yet lately they are hard to find –
So many stores are closing
And people turn to e-cards,
Or that’s what I am supposing.

Some local drug stores carry cards,
Selections not extensive,
But though they’re nice, the problem is
That they are quite expensive.

Such prices just discourage those
Who’d like to send a greeting
And losing customers, to me,
Seems very self-defeating.

The times, they are a changing. And after I pay my monthly internet bill, I think we've paid enough for our E-Cards. :/ <3 :)

It's a 'vicious circle,' if such a violent phrase can be applied to something as innocuous as a greeting card... I make my own now, a little poem with a sketchy illustration. (I'm no artist,...and ha, ha: I'm no poet either. But the cards seem to be appreciated). :) gw

I'd be willing to bet that more of your cards get saved than store bought ones Gershon. <3 :)

fewer and fewer send cards I guess postage is expensive and e cards can be sent for free but its not the same as getting a card to open on a special day:-) hugs Jan xx
